For the Church through her doctors and theologians of the past has already explained the significance of these various Biblical symbols.

Among the lessons that the Third Secret reveals and which this booklet seeks to explain are the following:

The Third Secret Vision does not describe a political or military assault against the Church primarily, but a spiritual one

The "city half in ruins" is not an earthly city only, but the City of God, the Church, under attack from an internal crisis

The "mountain" is a symbol of Our Lord, and the "rock" upon which He built the Church is Our Lord Himself primarily, and St. Peter by participation

The prophecy of Pope Leo XIII about Satan's assault against the Chair of Peter - its meaning as revealed in the Third Secret Vision.

Manufacture's seconds, cosmetic defects: bumps, displaced headbands, small glue marks

In December of 2017, we were approached by a seminarian on behalf of some priests, who were looking for a travel-size Ritual for the administration of the most important and most frequently used ceremonies, devotions and sacraments in the traditional rite. each vol. St. Thomas Aquinas' incredible commentary on the books of the Gospel is now available again in an elegant hardcover set. Compiling the works of the Early Church Fathers (over 80 are featured!), the Angelic Doctor presents a comprehensive and erudite exegesis of the Scriptural books that specifically recount the life of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The English translation of the original Latin text contained in this set is especially noteworthy as it was edited by JOHN HENRY NEWMAN (1801-1890), who was canonized in October, 2019. The work of several years, though the 1st volume was published in 1841, is an accurate translation that has stood the test of time and is still cherished by serious students of the Holy Gospels. In fact Newman co-wrote in one of the Catena's introductions that while previous ecclesiastical writers had also compiled such Patristic texts, nevertheless ".they [the earlier compositions] are very inferior to the Catena Aurea." Originally published as an 8-volume set, our reprinted edition has been bound into 4 volumes allowing the production of an elegant hardcover set, but for an economical sale price! France was going through such a continuous series of political, social and ecclesiastical upheavals from 1789 (the French Revolution) up to the 20th century that one wonders how it was able to maintain its sanity. The governments changed no less than six times within that period. These wars, revolutions and depressions plagued the French people. And the Church suffered much during and after the French Revolution so that direction was needed to bring it back on track. Seeing the suffering and depression of the French Catholic Church and her people, Dom Guéranger began writing his monumental work in 1841. He died in 1875 after writing nine volumes. The remaining volumes were completed by another Benedictine under Dom Guéranger's name. Dom Guéranger's belief was that the Mass and the cycle of the Church s year could help restore what had been forsaken. Indeed, one can say that the mission of Dom Guéranger was to restore the more than thousand-year tradition of Christianity and its forgotten riches which were abandoned during the French Revolution and its aftermath. He began in post-revolutionary France by founding the 1st Benedictine community in 1836. In 1841 he began the Liturgical Year to bring back Catholic culture and consequently Western Civilization by turning to the Catholic Mass which is the source of all graces and the soul of Catholic worship. His commentaries, explanations and historical observations as contained in this work are profound, devotional and instructive. Each Mass during the entire Church’s yearly cycle is analyzed and explained in simple terms so as to make the reader appreciate the vast treasure and importance of that particular Mass during the year. The Introits, Collects, Epistles, Gospels, Offertory prayers, etc. all have appropriate explanations which bring out the richness of the Mass. Preserving Christian Publications’ reprint of this set is made to last many readings with a durable hardback light-blue binding that is sewn. Each volume is numbered on the spine for the season it covers. Due to the length, complexity and cost of reprinting this 15-volume set, it took us over a year to get the complete set published. Hopefully our labor will benefit all those who wish to deepen their knowledge and love for the Mass of the saints. Bella Dodd’s story is a human document of immense importance to Americans today. Here are the inner workings of the Communist Party in this country as seen from the secret counsels and strategy meetings of the National Committee, to which she belonged for a crucial span of years. Bella Dodd’s is a story familiar to many a young American idealist who saw in Communism a new gospel and who worked sacrificially in the cause until the inevitable bitter day when the cause betrayed her. For her that day came almost too late for her own salvation, for as she tells us, “it takes a long time to ‘unbecome’ a Communist.” As a brilliant young college instructor, and one with legal training, Bella Dodd attracted the attention of top Communists by her unremitting fight to improve the pay and working conditions of New York City’s teachers. Her conversion to Communism was a slow infiltration of the mind by an appeal to love of humanity, a vision of a better society and wider social justice. She rose in Party ranks to National Committee membership and was as well the legislative representative of its New York State Committee, a member of the State Board and the State Secretariat. This report of her activities and those of the high-up Party leaders covers the historic period during World War II of the Democratic Front, the Rapp-Coudert investigation of Communist teachers, the propaganda drive in behalf of Loyalist Spain, the work of the Women’s Trade Union for Peace, the goings-on in the famous “Ninth Floor” of Communist headquarters. She recreates the atmosphere of suspicion and conspiracy which was part of the air she breathed in those days. She reports tense sessions in which friends turned their backs on friends and former leaders found themselves demoted overnight as the “Party line” from Moscow changed course.

<div Families are reunited, good friends see each other, and all earthly sacrifice or suffering is amply rewarded. During that time, the Church wants us to reflect upon one of the greatest mysteries of our faith: the passion and death of our Blessed Lord. The Church over the centuries has assembled some of the greatest prayers and ceremonies to commemorate this great act of love of Jesus. And these prayers and ceremonies are all accompanied by beautiful psalms tones and sublime Gregorian chant that normally are only heard during that mournful week. Since our recently reprinted Liber Brevior was based on the original 1954 edition, this Liber Brevior book did not include the restored Pius XII Holy Week ceremonies and offices.

So we at PCP decided to put together a book just for Holy Week that would include all the chants and melodies for all the offices, ceremonies and Masses of that week. Thus our new Gregorian Chant Holy Week Book was born. Indeed it can be argued it is difficult to restore the traditional sense of Holy Week on the parish level today. But we think that by introducing this book, it will help to bring back the sense of the sacred to that week, if properly implemented and used by those in charge conducting Holy Week services. The new Gregorian Chant Holy Week Book was made by taking out those parts from the 1962 Liber Usualis that pertain to the entire week, beginning with the restored Palm Sunday ceremonies up to and including the Easter Vigil.

Thus, parishes with those interested in doing the offices of the Sacred Triduum, for example, can find this book most valuable in singing those offices on the last 3 days of Holy Week. And all the other sung ceremonies can be found in this book as well. For choirs on the parish level, we believe this book of 251 pages is smaller, more useful and more affordable for Holy Week, than the larger and bulkier Liber Usualis. As usual, we have had this book sewn and bound with a hard cover durable binding for a long life. One ribbon marker was inserted in the book as a speedy reference locator. The first shows that the universal laws of the Church explicitly exclude today’s widespread practice of Communion in the hand. The second section was written in response to efforts that would allow those not living in conformity with the commandments to receive Communion. In responding to this unacceptable proposal, Bishop Laise explained not only the fundamental obligation to receive in the state of grace, but also the proper need for all the faithful to make an adequate preparation to receive the Sacrament worthily, and the Church’s practice throughout the centuries of encouraging spiritual communion when sacramental Communion is not possible.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0688/8590/5634/files/rn-image_picker_lib_temp_5f9dfa1b-8a4d-4b9d-b921-2d5ea2dc7ac5.jpg?v=1758743819
essay-on-catholicism-liberalism-and-socialism-considered-in-their-fundamental-principles
Essay on Catholicism, Liberalism, and Socialism: Considered in Their Fundamental Principles

Essay on Catholicism, Liberalism, and Socialism: Considered in Their Fundamental Principles
By Donoso Cortés (1800–1853)

First published in 1851, this prophetic work by Donoso Cortés remains one of the most brilliant and penetrating examinations of the relationship between faith, society, and politics. Most of the Psalms of David, he said, read like a compendium of the whole of the Old Testament, a summation in poetic capsule. The Bellarmine Commentary remains to this day an indispensable work for understanding not only the Book of Psalms and the Old Testament, but also the Catholic liturgy, as the Psalms are at the heart of liturgical prayer. In 1999 Preserving Christian Publications scanned and reprinted the 1866 English translation of Archdeacon John O'Sullivan. He edited this work in part to make it more of a devotional work rather than a polemical or scholarly treatment of these prayers. In the original Latin St. Robert Bellarmine defends the Vulgate Psalter by introducing the reason for the Latin translations based on the Hebrew and Greek readings of various texts. For the scholar this is highly useful, but as a devotional work, the translator, Archdeacon O'Sullivan, sought to remove those scholarly discussions to make it more appealing to both laity and clergy alike. After our 1999 edition was sold out, we then reprinted it in 2003 and 2008. The book is rather large, measuring 11.75" x 9.5". Our first printing was a sewn paperback edition. This printing is a sewn hardback edition with an attractive dust jacket and a useful marking ribbon. Each copy of our reprinted edition is in a shrink wrap protective cover. 382 pages make up the commentary with the layout of the text in two columns, such as found in many Bibles, Breviaries or other books of this kind. St. Robert Bellarmine gives a verse-by-verse commentary on the Psalms as they are in the Vulgate, now rendered in English using the Douay-Rheims Bible and explains the literal meaning of the words as well as their spiritual significance. St. Robert Bellarmine is known as a great Jesuit apologist, theologian, confessor, cardinal, advisor to popes, doctor of the Church, saint and spiritual master of his day. His commentary therefore should be esteemed by all who cherish the Psalms and the interior life, since it feeds the soul and illuminates the mind.
