I remember these confession cards from over sixty years ago. They even look and feel the same. I never thought I would see one again in this world, let alone copies for sale. Zealous priests had these in mounted racks at the church entrances as they were to be returned after use. There was even a bell to ring for a confession outside the usual times. There was always at least one priest on call. Amazing!
One thing I notice that is different from yesteryear is the version of the Act of Contrition you use. Yes, I know it was changed even before Vatican II. However, the version you use is slightly different from the one children memorized in the good old days. This presents a problem if those forming children strive to get them all on the same page. The version I have always said goes like this O my God! I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.
I just checked this out in the old prayerbook God and My Heart 1938 edition.
It does not make much difference except when teaching a group of children to recite from memory the Act of Contrition. If they would use your version it would introduce a slightly different version than the one taught in the traditional Catholic classroom and known by traditionalists and old timers.
Uniformity is required in getting children to remember a text. I am amazed how some adults say "I am hardly sorry" instead of "heartily sorry."
Also, in the Method of Confession we were taught differently. The penitent would say: "(While making the sign of the cross) Bless me Father for I have sinned my last confession was . . .or this is my first confession." At the end: "I am sorry for these sins and all the sins of my past life."
